Paddington Station, MacMillian House

Making Isambard proud and Paddington fit for a queen.

– Paddington Station
– Phases 4
– Value: £350,000

MacMillan House is a Grade I listed building designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and built in 1854. We were tasked with completing its restoration prior to the official opening of the Elizabeth Line at Paddington Station by Queen Elizabeth II in May 2022.

We completed a range of specialist works by hand including the partial paint strip to the highly decorative render, lime mortar repairs and the rerunning of 90m of cornice using traditional methods (horse moulds). Finally, we analysed the existing paint and redecorated the Grade I façade exactly in its original colour scheme.

“The work does look beautiful - Rosewood have done a great job. I can confirm the photos don't do justice and it looks better in real life!”
